SCIENTIFIC ANSWERS TO BUSINESS CHALLENGES

Research and development

For three decades, our researchers have analyzed economic processes, economic phenomena, and problems in social relations. They have tracked the impact of technology on each of these areas and looked for opportunities to use new digital tools. Economists, management specialists, social scientists, psychologists, lawyers, and data analysts from Kozminski University are embarking on their fourth decade of scientific study of the world around us.

Kozminski University is striving for excellence in research and on its way to becoming an international benchmark for knowledge in all areas of management. This is evidenced by our contributions, including publications in academic journals, books, case studies, and collaborations with leading companies to solve real business problems and needs.

Covid has influenced our eating and consumption habits. We are increasingly willing to cook, waste less food, and rely on healthier products.

“After the outbreak of the pandemic, respondents began to declare that food has become a more important part of their daily lives. They are more willing to use leftovers from meals to make new dishes, and they prefer healthier dishes instead of those that are ready-made or consist of processed products. “

People who have a friend at work are 7 times more engaged in their duties.

“If an employee has someone friendly in the office or plant, their engagement and satisfaction are clearly higher than that of other respondents. And after the pandemic, the impact of close relationships on job satisfaction became even stronger.”

The presence of women in the bodies that control the operation of companies improves the financial transparency of organizations.

“New regulations have been introduced in
many European countries, and after a few years, we can observe much better performance of companies and greater transparency in their operations. And this is due to the greater involvement of women in economic life.”

You can't forecast a country's economic situation based on gross domestic product alone. The author's index of the economic and social situation allows you to measure it based on 45 parameters.

“Uncertainty weakens economic prosperity, and weak prosperity increases uncertainty. This vicious cycle can be broken by one of two scenarios. Either public sentiment and attitudes will improve, and thus the real situation will improve. Or vice versa – a markedly better real situation will improve sentiment and reduce uncertainty.”

Technological advances reward a narrow group of highly skilled workers, widening the earnings gap.

“The state must take care of the social balance: to reduce the number of excluded people without access to goods considered basic today.”

Eco-deductions or environmental fees - what really motivates companies? A well-designed tax policy increases companies' investment in so-called clean production technologies

“An effective method of encouraging businesses to introduce green solutions is the so-called policy mix. It involves combining financial support with legal requirements, such as environmental taxes and regulations, and social pressure, which ultimately leads to a more sustainable economy.”
